Driving Lessons in Dumont, NJ
Professional behind-the-wheel instruction from Adventure Driving School's home base in Dumont. We've trained Bergen County drivers since 1980 — teens earning their first permit, adults getting behind the wheel, and drivers preparing for the NJ road test with one-on-one lessons and door-to-door pickup.
Learn to drive with confidence in Dumont
Because our office is right here in Dumont, scheduling is fast and pickups are close. Your lessons begin on the calm residential blocks off Washington Avenue, where you can settle in and build the basics without pressure before we gradually introduce busier roads.
From there we work up to Madison Avenue, Knickerbocker Road, and the Route 4 interchange — the same roads you'll drive every day. By the end, you'll have the behind-the-wheel experience and judgment to drive independently throughout Bergen County.

Driving lessons for teens and adults in Dumont
Every student starts from a different place. Whether you're a 16-year-old getting your first permit or an adult who's been putting it off for years, your lessons are tailored to where you are today.
Teen Driving Lessons
Dumont High School students build safe habits and real-world skills behind the wheel — steering control, scanning intersections, and making calm decisions under pressure. Lessons are paced so a new teen driver stays comfortable while steadily taking on more challenging local roads.
Adult Driving Lessons
Adult lessons fit your situation: first-time drivers, people returning after years away, nervous drivers, and licensed adults who simply want more guided practice. We meet you where you are and build from there — no assumptions about your experience.
The 6-hour teen permit program in Dumont
The 6 hour teen permit program gives eligible NJ teens the required behind-the-wheel instruction to get started as licensed drivers. Over six focused hours in a dual-brake car, your teen builds the fundamentals — steering, braking, turning, scanning, and basic traffic judgment — with a certified driving instructor.
This 6 hour driving course is structured step by step: start controlled and calm on Dumont's quiet streets, then gradually introduce busier corridors so your teen develops real confidence rather than just ticking a box. We pick up from home or school in Dumont, and the permit is validated on completion.
Parents: have questions about how the 6-hour program works for your Dumont teen? Call 201-479-4768 and we'll walk you through scheduling and what to expect.
